Design Language for the Educational Platform
Introduction
ICT360 is a major educational platform in India's VFX and graphics industry, offering courses through Mindbox India for students from Grade 1 and above.
The Challenge
The Problem
The Lack of a consistent design system meant using one of the existing multi purpose design systems which either didn’t fully represent it’s purpose or wasn’t representative of the work or brand itself.
Reason
The design language needed to be interesting enough for younger minds.. But also not too in the face that it takes all the attention away from the main course material. It was also important for it to be an Atomic Design system so each component is depended on a smaller object to maintain consistency.

The project resulted in a crisp, clear design language with atomic elements, creating a future-proof design system and guiding new additions for the internal team.
Colors
One of the first things to figure out was a color palette for the design system which would be derived from the brand itself..
Typography
The font selected was Lexand Deca due to it’s cleanliness, elegance and ready availability on Google Fonts.
Form Elements
Covering all form elements required in any interaction format across touch and interface formats.
Navigation & Communication
Both Navigation methods including top bar and side bar were included along with support chat formats.
Tabular, Avatars & Loaders
Styling for tabular content, along with loaders was included within the design system.
Toasties, Modals
Components for intimations and floating messages along with modal popups were provided as well.
Charts and Data
Different forms of Data representations were built into the design system.
Content Preview and Interactions
Video and slideshow formats had additional information and functionality built to facilitate the students, including chapter and lesson markers, keeping notes and so on.
